As well as being a practice of specialist architects with 'real world' experience in delivering quality patient focused healthcare environments, MAAP has over 17 years experience in delivering healthcare facility design guidances for The Department of Health, other EU agencies, the private and voluntary sectors.

Through our academic roots, with MARU, and subsequent body of research, MAAP has accumulated a wealth of experience. We have a panel of specialist consultants and a substantial physical knowledgebase to draw upon in the preparation of new guidances.

By working almost exclusively on the design of health buildings MAAP has a good knowledge and awareness of both NHS policy issues and their implementation on the ground. We subscribe to the NHSE Quarterly Review and regularly attend and contribute to publications and conferences where NHS policy is promoted or under scrutiny.

We have regularly provided consultancy services to The Department of Health and have contributed to published design guides and Health Building Notes on acute hospital ward design, primary care resource centres and mental health facilities.
