Clock View a new £25m local Mental Health Hospital for Mersey Care NHS Trust handed over

Clock View, a £25m Mental Health Hospital has been handed over. Medical Architecture have been engaged for over 10 years with Mersey Care NHS Trust, staff, commissioners and service users planning for high quality local mental health services.  Clock View is the first stage in this programme and will provide a range of services and 85 in-patient beds for Adults with Acute Mental Illness and Dementias in north Liverpool on the site of Walton Hospital. The building was constructed by a Farrans and Heron Bros., joint venture, through a public private partnership with LSHP

Designed as a sequence of low pavilions with semi-private and secure gardens that are interlinked by more prominent treatment and offices to create an intensive therapeutic setting. As well as ecological landscape gardens, staff and service users will enjoy a range of artwork commissioned with the building. This new hospital marks a step change in the quality of mental health facilities in the North West of England and is conceived to foster recovery and wellbeing.
